The producer helped Madonna score a string of hits when he worked with the Queen of Pop on her Ray of Light record and now Brit is hoping for similar success by enlisting his services.

Revealing the news is Spears’ A&R, Teresa Whites, who wrote on Twitter : “Some HUGE news guys! William Orbit is officially writing and working on Britney’s new album. For those who don’t know he did alot of Madonna’s Ray Of Light.”

Although that message has since been removed from the site and replaced with a new Tweet that reads : “Hey @WilliamOrbit ..hope you and Alan made it home safely! come back to Texas soon…we’ll have the plane ready! (sic)”

Others working on Britney’s new album (out in 2011), include Sean Garrett – who says the record “could get freaky” – while Glee creator Ryan Murphy heard some of the pop star’s new songs recently, which he described as being a return to her dance roots.

Britney Spears former bodyguard, Fernando Flores, has reportedly sued the star claiming sexual harassment and that she abused her children. But Kevin Federline is coming to his ex-wife’s defense.

According to TMZ, Flores claims Britney “savagely” hit her children with a belt. Kevin is speaking out, through his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, saying the claims are “baseless.”

Kaplan says the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services investigated Flores’ allegations and determined they had no merit.

Britney has not responded to the lawsuit yet, but it’s nice to know Kevin has her back when it comes to their children!

The producer/DJ says the reason he was chosen for the new Britney Spears album is because he doesn’t go through usual route in making music.

While Britney Spears and her team remain secretive about her next studio installment, Rhapsody managed to reveal one producer who contributes to the project. Met at the recent Lollapalooza, U.K. DJ Rusko confirmed his involvement and explained what he has in mind.

“I worked with Britney, T.I. and Rihanna. I’m a musician you know, and I just wanted to do something with big chords, big melodies”, he said. “When you’re making dance music the number one rule is to keep is simple, and as a dance music producer doing electronic music I keep it simple and often have to take stuff out but when you’re doing pop songs, you have to put as much in as you can ; as much melody and music as possible.”

When asked whether he is tempted to do something crazy for Britney’s song, Rusko replied,“Well the thing is, they could go to the regular people who make hit pop records if they wanted something straight, but the whole reason they came to me was because I make more weird music anyway, so I already have a license to be crazy with it.” Without hesitancy, he added, “It’s Britney, she’s got money. If she didn’t want crazy she could ask someone who had a massive string of hit albums before, you know ?”

Britney fans, rejoice! After previous speculation that the pop star would not appear on a Glee episode dedicated to her hits, the show’s creator says the queen of pop will indeed be joining the kids of William McKinley High School come season 2.
“Britney, I think 100 percent, is going to be on the episode,” Ryan Murphy, Glee creator, told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Tuesday morning.
The show is racking up quite a repertoire of A-List guests, including John Stamos, Carol Burnett and Javier Bardem, and Murphy credits this celebrity attention to the show’s message.
“The show is, by its nature, about arts education,” he says, “and I think everybody wants to support that.”
Although Murphy says he’s not sure of the exact roll Spears will play, the episode will be a dream come true — literally.
“The fun thing about the episode, how we’re doing it, is all the Britney Spears numbers are fantasies,” he says. “They have fantasies about how they can be like her.”
Murphy also addressed rumors that Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) was going to shave his head in homage of Spears’s infamous haircut: “The Britney episode, I’m here to say, is so reverential about her and so kind, and it’s about her music and not about her personal life,” he says. “We’re handling Britney with kids gloves.”
Murphy also said that he hopes to feature music by Prince, the Beatles or Michael Jackson on the post-Super Bowl episode of Glee, although no plans have been made yet.
